Peppermint Grove

6012, Western Australia

Possibly Perth’s most tranquil suburb, Peppermint Grove is the smallest municipality in WA.

Peppermint Grove, or Peppy Grove as it is affectionately known, is characterised by serene tree-lined streets and lush parks that make it one of Australia’s most exclusive and expensive suburbs. Spanning only six blocks between Stirling Highway on the west and the Swan River to the east, Peppermint Grove is an exclusive enclave that Perth’s elite call home. There’s no denying that Peppermint Grove has a distinct air of dignity and style. This affluent suburb has even been compared to Monaco thanks to the concentration of wealth in such a small area.

Peppermint Grove has an abundance of green parklands, ovals and reserves where locals can walk, run, or simply sit and marvel at the river views. The two most notable parks are Manners Hill Park and Keanes Point Reserve which are well equipped with BBQ facilities, playgrounds and jetties. For a more active afternoon, locals can enjoy sailing and boating at the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, or a game of tennis at the Peppermint Grove Tennis Club.

For such a small suburb, Peppermint Grove is full of wonderful amenities for residents to enjoy. Restaurants, specialty boutiques, cafes, gyms, and schools are all located close by. One of Perth’s top private schools for girls, Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC), is within Peppermint Grove’s boundaries, offering primary, secondary and boarding facilities. St Hilda’s, Iona and Methodist Ladies College (MLC) offer alternative elite schooling options for girls. Scotch College and Christ Church Grammar School are the local elite boy’s schools. Additionally, Cottesloe Primary School also offers rich heritage and strong traditions.

A showcase of eco-architecture, the Grove Library is popular community facility for residents of all ages. The two local churches, St Mary Star of the Sea (Catholic) and St Columba’s Presbyterian Church, are well attended by locals.

No matter what stage of life you are at, Peppermint Grove offers a lifestyle that is only available to an exclusive section of Perth’s population.
