Possibly Perth’s most tranquil suburb, Peppermint Grove is the smallest municipality in WA.
Peppermint Grove locals are as cultured as their beautiful homes. Set in serene tree-lined streets and lush parks, and spanning only six blocks between Stirling Highway on the west and the Swan River to the east. There’s no denying a very distinct air of dignity and style, as this affluent suburb’s long been regarded as the residence of some of Perth’s most successful residents.
There’s no shortage of green parklands, ovals and reserves where locals can walk, run, or simply sit and marvel at the river views, most notably Manners Hill Park and Keanes Point Reserve, which are well equipped with BBQ, playgrounds and jetties. For a more exhilarating afternoon, locals can enjoy sailing and boating at the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, or a game of tennis at the Peppermint Grove Tennis Club.
Peppermint Grove is full of leading amenities, including nearby restaurants, specialty boutiques, cafes, gyms, and schools. One of Perth’s top private schools for girls, Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC), is within Peppermint Grove’s precinct, offering primary, secondary and boarder facilities. Additionally Cottesloe Primary School also offers rich heritage and strong traditions.
A showcase of eco-architecture, the Grove Library is a popular all-ages community facility, with the two local churches, Catholic Church St Mary Star of the Sea and St Columba’s Presbyterian Church, also well attended.
